Setup help
MizpahGuard works by pointing your home’s DNS at us. On most routers that’s one setting. Some internet providers lock it — here is the easiest path for each situation, whole-home where possible and per-device where not.
My internet provider’s box won’t let me change DNS
Pick your provider for the exact options.
Using MizpahGuard with Xfinity
Xfinity’s gateway (XB6, XB7, XB8) locks the DNS setting. Here are the ways to protect your whole home or a single device anyway.
Using MizpahGuard with T-Mobile Home Internet
T-Mobile’s gateway has no custom-DNS setting and no bridge mode. Your options: add your own router, or protect devices one at a time.
Using MizpahGuard with AT&T
AT&T’s BGW210 and BGW320 gateways have no DNS field. Use IP Passthrough with your own router, or protect devices one at a time.
Using MizpahGuard with Verizon Fios
Verizon Fios’s router lets you set a DNS server. Here are the steps, and what to do if yours doesn’t.
Using MizpahGuard with Spectrum
Some Spectrum routers expose a DNS setting and some don’t. Here is how to check, and what to do if yours doesn’t.
I can add or use my own router
The most complete fix: every device in the house is covered.
Use your own router behind your ISP’s box
The whole-home fix when your internet provider’s gateway won’t let you change DNS: put a router you control behind it.
Using MizpahGuard with eero
Set MizpahGuard as the DNS server on your eero mesh system so every device on your Wi-Fi is protected, including what to turn off first if your eero came from your internet provider.
I’d rather protect specific devices or browsers
No router access needed. Covers only the devices you set up.
Protect a browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
No router access needed: point Chrome, Edge or Firefox at MizpahGuard’s secure-DNS address.
